Introduction

EU REACH, the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, is a European Union regulation covering not just industrial chemicals, but also articles and consumer products, requiring companies to report on chemicals used throughout the supply chain.

As a result of Brexit finally being executed, a UK version of REACH has come into effect since Jan 1st, 2021 in UK and has become a new challenge to product stewardship, immediately radiating its impact through UK supply chains.

Elsewhere in Europe, Turkey is one of the candidate countries of the EU and is in the process of transposing EU legislation into national law. KKDIK has become one of the hot regulations amongst chemical suppliers wanting to know more about their chemical registration process. Furthermore, we have invited our Turkish partner- Chemleg to give a guest presentation and provide their first hand insight on the KKDIK registration process.

On the other hand, regulators in Asia have already paved the way for the upcoming updates and deadlines for registration activities of some influencing chemical regulations.

Knowing the importance of your supply chain continuity, CIRS is presenting an educational webinar series featuring multiple chemical management regulations, to help you identify your roles, obligations and find practical solutions under the regulations of most concern to you and your customers.

Christopher Ketchum , CIRS USA Regulatory Consultant

Mr. Chris Ketchum works in CIRS Group US for more than 3 years and is responsible for regulatory consulting of cosmetics in China and US including the aspects of China cosmetics registration and filing, China new cosmetic ingredient registration and filing, China cosmetic ingredient NMPA code, US MoCRA, etc. He received his B.S. in Biology and Neuroscience from The Ohio State University.

Dean Winder , CIRS Europe senior regulatory consultant

Dean Winder is a member of our European office based in Dublin, Ireland. He received his BSc. in Pharmaceutical Science and is currently finishing his MSc. in Organic Chemistry in the Technological University of Dublin. He combines his knowledge of the chemical industry and his research experience to provide regulatory consultancy services, specialising in the industrial chemical sector.

Jim Mo , CIRS USA Business Development

Mr. Jim Mo stations in Washington D.C office of CIRS Group and responsible for business operations of chemicals and food sector in North America. A Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University, Jim channels his experience as a lead chemist into serving the industry with regulatory compliance consultancy.

Julie Harrington , CIRS EU Senior Regulatory Consultant

Julie Harrington is a Senior Regulatory Consultant and currently coordinating the cosmetic service at CIRS Europe. She has a BSc. in Medicinal Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin and over 4 years’ industry experience in cosmetic & chemical regulations spanning the EU/UK markets to China, South Korea and beyond. Her client portfolio includes luxury brands, cosmetic start-ups, and cosmetic ingredient manufacturers providing her with a broad knowledge of the cosmetic regulatory landscape and ability to strategize in different contexts.

Elif Koç , Chemleg Manage Director

Ms. Elif Koç is a Chemist. She worked as a Research Assistant for the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey projects for years in Istanbul Technical University where she graduated. She has more than 10 years’ experience in chemistry sector in different departments such as R&D and Regulatory Compliance as being team leader. She has a good technical background on chemical science and liaison to regulations. Then she established Chemleg with her partners. She is responsible for KKDIK OR Management and Technical Department for Chemleg. Also, she is responsible for Turkey BPR Compliance Department. She is a certificated Chemical Assessment Expert (according to KKDIK Annex 18). She leads many international companies KKDIK OR process as project leader. She delivers KKS utilization training to the local companies.

Junho Lee , CIRS Korea Chemical Stewardship

Junho Lee is a Director at CIRS Group Korea and has 11 years of international experience specializing in the field of chemical regulations, standards and certifications in Korea, China and Europe. He has supported industry on major chemical regulatory updates around the world starting with EU REACH, and now Korea’s K-REACH.

SeoWon Kim , CIRS Group Korea Senior Consultant

SeoWon Kim is a qualified regulatory affairs specialist with more than 6 years’ international experience in chemical compliance. She has a deep research into chemical regulations in EU and Asia Pacific regions with experience in international market. She has provided regulatory consulting services on Korea-BPR, safety data sheet under K-OSHA and risk assessment in the areas of industrial chemicals drawing on her diverse scientific background.

Jane Song , CIRS Group Regional Manager

Ms Jane Song has obtained her M.S in Biochemistry from Zhejiang Gongshang University. She is a senior regulatory consultant and has 8 year experiences in China REACH, EU REACH, Korea REACH and Taiwan TCSCA&OSHA compliance.
