Introduction

In the past, except for the registration of new enzymes produced by GMMs, other registrations of new food additives or food raw materials produced by GMMs are unacceptable by National Health Commission (NHC) in China, which means, these new food ingredients have no chance to enter the Chinese market as a food additive or food raw material. In 2021, NHC opened the application channel for GMM food additives. Since then, GMM food additives, represented by human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), have been a great attraction to applicants and been applied in a continuous stream.

In order to help enterprises understand the application of new food additive (including GMM derivative, enzyme, flavouring, and nutrition enhancer) in China, CIRS Group will hold a webinar in May 24, 2023. Ms. Cathy Yu's major in university was food science and engineering, she is very familiar with food industry, and has extensive experience in China food and food contact material laws and regulations. She has been invited to Germany, France, the United States, South Korea and many other regions to give the training to foreign food related companies in international regulatory conferences. She works in CIRS Group for more than 8 years and leads the Food Business Division to assist global well-known companies.

Hui Xu , Food Business Division Food Regulatory Consultant

Mr. Hui Xu has a deep understanding of food regulations both domestically and internationally, with over 6 years of experience in regulatory compliance. He has extensive experience in new food raw materials and new food additives registration in China, and is well versed in the management and registration of food ingredients in Europe and the United States. Being proficient in Japanese, he focuses on providing food-related compliance services for Japanese enterprises.

Jessie Shen , Senior Food Regulatory Consultant

Ms. Jessie Shen has a master’s degree in Advanced Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester. She is familiar with food and food contact material industry. She focuses on health food, foods for special medical purpose (FSMP), food ingredient and food contact materials regulatory compliance and has more than 8 years of experience in providing professional consultation for overseas enterprises. She has been assisting hundreds of overseas enterprises to ensure their compliance with Chinese regulations.
